Foster
Being a foster parent is like being a grandparent ... all of the enjoyment of playing with, caring for and loving animals without the lifetime responsibility. A foster parent provides a temporary home for an animal-in-need. Foster parents can provide interim care and affection for kittens or puppies too young for adoption, or for cats or dogs that we don't have space for in our shelters. Foster homes are always needed as we normally have more animals than space allows. Foster homes also provide socialization and security for some of our animals who are too shy for shelter life. Necessary supplies, including blankets, food, etc. are provided. Foster parents simply provide plenty of TLC. In short, our foster program allows us to help more animals in need.
Fostering is one of those rewarding tasks that will break your heart and fill your heart at the same time. With each animal that is adopted, you may cry - but you will know that you have helped to save a life! And, you will now be able to help another animal by fostering again.
If you have any doubts about how rewarding this experience can be - read the stories on our "Happy Tails" page!
